What is a Gynecologist?
A gynecologist is a doctor with advanced training to diagnose and treat diseases of the female reproductive system. Gynecologists may also practice obstetrics (the management of pregnancy), but mainly focus on the non-pregnancy aspects of reproductive health. Gynecologists can perform surgeries such as hysterectomies or oophorectomies, or provide routine care such as pap smears or breast exams.
