Adventist HealthCare Receives $50,000 Grant to Help Serve Community for Fifth Year
Adventist HealthCare receives grant to support continued efforts to support breast cancer early detection in underserved communities
Gaithersburg, MD – Adventist HealthCare Imaging received a $50,000 grant from the Brem Foundation to Defeat Breast Cancer. Funds will be used to help provide screening and diagnostic breast exams for women who are medically underserved and cannot afford the cost of vital breast care. The Brem Foundation is a nonprofit that uses education, advocacy and access to maximize women’s chances of detecting breast cancer when it is curable.
With the support of the Brem Foundation grant, Adventist HealthCare is able to continue providing critical breast cancer screening and diagnostic services to all women regardless of ability to pay, and decrease the time between a patient’s screening and their diagnostic imaging.
“We are excited to once again receive support from the Brem Foundation to continue our goal of finding and treating breast cancer as early as possible, increasing treatment options and survival rates,” says Aiysha Lewis, Director of Operations and Business Development at Adventist HealthCare Imaging. “We are honored to continue this important work through the partnership of the Brem Foundation.”
Adventist HealthCare was one of four organizations that was awarded a grant from the Brem Foundation to help cover services for women’s breast health and serve women in need. Since the grant was first awarded in 2018, Adventist HealthCare Imaging has been able to help 1,000 women.
