Patient Information

Your patient room is your home while you are here. We want to keep you and your loved ones as comfortable and as safe as possible.

For Assistance in Your Room

Your remote control and television allow you to get the right help when you need it. Please press the red call button on your television remote control. The unit coordinator or another member of your care team will answer, listen to your needs and share them with the right member of your care team and get you help as soon as possible. You may also use your remote to request help with specific needs such as water or restroom assistance.

Interpreter or Hearing-Impaired Services

We are committed to communicating with patients who prefer to speak a language other than English for their healthcare experience, or who are deaf or hard of hearing. We want to explain things related to medical conditions or hospital visits in a way that all of our patients can understand. We offer free interpretation and communication services to meet your needs. No person will be denied equal access to services at our hospital based on his or her ability to communicate or speak English. Please know that if you are experiencing an emergency, we will not delay care. Hospital staff will assist you in communicating as effectively as possible.

If you need communication assistance, please ask your nurse or any staff member for help.

Keeping Your Room Clean

Keeping your room and bathroom clean is our priority. Your housekeeper will clean your room once a day.

If you see something that requires immediate attention, please dial 6256 from any hospital phone or 240-637-6256 from an outside phone to reach our Environmental Services team. We will send a housekeeper as soon as possible.

Your Meals

During your stay, we want to keep you well-fed with satisfying meals that meet your doctor’s orders. To do this a Food & Nutrition Services employee will visit you to take your food order for each meal. Visitors can view the online café menu by using the Bite app on their smart phones.

Visitors who would like to dine with you may purchase a guest tray from the cashier in our cafeteria. Food & Nutrition Services can deliver guest trays to your room with your meal. The cost of the guest tray will vary depending on the food your guest selects. Visitors may also eat in our Cafeteria, located on

Level 1, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

You can also purchase coffee, snacks and other drinks at the Gift Shop or Einstein Bros. Café on Level 1. Vending machines are available near the Cafeteria.
