Week 2 Q&A with Johanna
We spoke with Johanna following her second week in the Academy to see how things were going. Here's what she told us.
What was something an instructor taught you this week?
This week we learned about mental health and different coping mechanisms used. We also, learned about the Musculoskeletal and Nervous System which are all very important.
Did you learn anything that surprised you?
I learnt about many mental health disorders. Also, we were able to go over how over musculoskeletal system is affected as we age!
What excited you this week?
I was very excited to practice hands-on transporting patient's to wheelchairs and to help prevent falls.
What challenged you this week?
What challenged me the most was learning a few new medical abbreviations.
What has the experience been like with your fellow trainees?
The instructors are very informative and make sure we do not feel lost. Each day we learn something new.
On a scale of 1-10 how difficult was this week?
I would say this week's level of difficulty was about a 5.

The CNA Academy at Adventist HealthCare is an innovative program designed to support those seeking to start a career in patient care services as a certified nursing assistant (CNA). The academy offers classroom and clinical training, in a hospital setting, to prepare candidates to pass the CNA certification exam.
