About Daisy F. Lazarous
Daisy F. Lazarous, MD, FACC is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease and is the Director of Women's Cardiovascular Program with Adventist HealthCare. She has completed residencies in internal medicine and general surgery at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Lazarous has also completed a clinical cardiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and a cardiology research fellowship at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute at the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Lazarous brings over 20 years’ experience in the practice of cardiology and is a Clinical Professor at the GWU School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She is the former director of the MedStar Women’s Cardiovascular Program and has served as a professor of medicine at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and George Mason University. She has also served as an editor with the American College of Cardiology’s Heart Rhythm Society. Dr. Lazarous has written and co-authored over twenty peer-reviewed journal articles and has participated in several cardiovascular disease research grants and studies.
Dr. Lazarous enjoys teaching and serving as a medical educator to today’s medical students and has served as a mentor to many cardiology fellowship students.
Dr. Lazarous has been a featured speaker at many international, national and local educational programs, lectures and community events. She has a tremendous interest in women’s cardiovascular health and the focus of her practice is the prevention of heart disease in women. Her offices are located in Silver Spring and Rockville, Maryland.
