Nurse Externship Program
We welcome applicants for our highly competitive student nurse externship programwhere students receive hands-on experience and build confidence in their skills.
About the Externship
- Apply classroom learning to bedside patient care with the supportof a nurse preceptor.
- Gain skills and knowledge that will support your success onNCLEX and your transition to professional nursing practice
- Paid full-time eight-week training program during the summer
- Option to extend employment into the academic year
- Option to apply for a CNA position post externship
Qualifications
- Have completed the first year of nursing coursework and are a rising senior
- Successful completion of the Foundations/Fundamentals nursing coursework from an accredited nursing program
- Current Maryland CNA license
- Commitment to the full eight-week externship
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) forprofessionals certification
