Health Career Interview Tips

Employment Search Tips

  • When applying for a job with Adventist HealthCare, it is important to indicate the position of interest. This will assist the human resources staff in quickly routing your resume to the appropriate recruiter.
  • Please submit only one copy of your resume when applying for multiple positions.

The Interview

What to Expect
If the hiring manager requests an interview, you will be contacted by Human Resources.

What to Bring to Your Interview

  • Current professional licenses or credentials (if applicable)
  • Names and phone numbers for professional work references
  • Letters of reference (optional)

Interview Process

  • Each candidate for a position must interview with the hiring manager and the recruiter for that position.
  • In most cases, pre-employment skills testing (e.g. medication administration test, typing test, etc.) will be conducted on the same day as the HR interview.

The Hiring Process

  • Adventist HealthCare will conduct a criminal background check on all prospective employees.
  • All new hires will undergo pre-employment drug testing and a physical examination. The physical normally takes a couple of hours to complete, however, depending on the number of other new employees receiving their physical and the availability of medical personnel it may take longer.
  • Please bring the following items when you come for your physical:
    • Proof of Authorization to work in the U.S. as defined on form I-9
    • Immunization Records or proof of immunity to MMR and Hepatitis B
    • List of Current Medications you are taking

New Employee Orientation

All new employees are required to attend an Orientation training session within the first 30 days of employment. The recruiter in HR will schedule this for you when you are offered the job.
