Adventist HealthCare Home Care Services Receives Elite Award for 4th Straight Year
Silver Spring, MD – Adventist Home Health, part of Adventist HealthCare Home Care Services, has received the 2015 HomeCare Elite Award for the fourth year in a row. The award, which is presented by The National Research Corporation, recognizes the top-performing home health agencies in the United States.
“We are honored to be recognized as a HomeCare Elite award recipient for the past four years,” said Keith Ballenger, vice president of Adventist HealthCare Home Care Services. “This award represents our commitment to providing exceptional, quality home care assistance to our patients.”
HomeCare Elite winners are ranked by an analysis of publicly available performance measures in quality outcomes, best practice implementation, patient experience, quality improvement and consistency and financial performance. In order to be considered, an agency must be Medicare-certified and have data for at least one outcome in Home Health Compare, which uses a quality of patient care star rating to show consumers how the performance of a home health agency compares to other agencies. Out of 9,718 agencies that qualified for the award, 2,431 are elite.
Adventist HealthCare Home Care Services has provided in-home care to the community for more than 40 years through a dedicated team of skilled nurses, therapists, nursing aides and social workers providing home health services tailored to each patient’s needs. Today, it is part of Gaithersburg-based Adventist HealthCare and offers care throughout Suburban Maryland including Montgomery, Prince George’s, Charles, Calvert, St. Mary’s, Howard and Anne Arundel counties.
In addition to this award, Adventist HealthCare’s Home Health agency was one of only three agencies in Maryland to receive the highest quality national rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in July 2015. This five-star rating placed the division in the top 3% of agencies in the United States. Adventist Home Health will continue to hold this rank for the fourth straight quarter, through June 2016.
“The 2015 HomeCare Elite winners deserve credit for demonstrating high-quality care in their communities. As quality care initiatives become top-of-mind for healthcare providers, we recognize this as a remarkable achievement and are pleased to make this our 10th year of acknowledgement for top performing home health organizations,” said Christine Lang, VP of Product Development for OCS HomeCare. “We congratulate Adventist Home Health on being one of the top home care agencies in the country.”
