The CardioVascular Institute at Washington Adventist Hospital has provided the Washington Metropolitan Area with leading edge, state-of-the art procedures with skill, compassion and experience for the past 25 years. The institute was also the first in the mid-Atlantic region to begin performing a revolutionary type of surgery that can correct atrial fibrillation (AF), a common form of heart rhythm abnormality and a major cause of stroke. The procedure, called The Mini-Maze, offers new hope to AF patients for whom no cure now exists.
