Laparoscopic Surgeon

Dr. Barry Greene is a General and Laparoscopic Surgeon with an extensive experience in advanced laparoscopic procedures. He is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Medicine and the Wright State University School of Medicine Surgical Residency where the Academy of Medicine honored him as the Outstanding Resident in1990.  He remained on faculty at Wright State University and Wright Patterson Air Force Base developing a Laparoscopic Program until 1992 when the United States Air Force moved him to Andrews Air Force Base. There he continued to teach residents and surgeons laparoscopic techniques until joining the private practice of Drs Sandler & Weisbaum in 1994. Major Greene’s efforts in the United States Air Force were twice rewarded with the Air Force Commendation Medal. His love of teaching and of laparoscopic surgery has continued in private practice. Dr Greene has continued to teach surgeons and residents laparoscopic skills. He is director of Bariatric Surgery at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and the Advanced Weight Loss Surgery Program.
