Cancer Screening Days

Cancer is the second leading cause of death in Maryland after heart disease and one in four deaths in Maryland are due to cancer. Our oncology outreach supports the growth of cancer services at both Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and Washington Adventist Hospital.

2008 Cancer Screening Days Review

In March 2008, we hosted our annual Cancer Screening Days at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and Washington Adventist Hospital. During this event we offered free screenings for bladder, skin oral, thyroid, colorectal, and prostate cancers. Washington Adventist Hospital had 79 participants and administered over 341 cancer screenings. Shady Grove Adventist Hospital had 109 participants and performed 487 cancer screenings.

Participation in this event grows every year and we look forward to even greater participation in 2009.
